In this privacy notice, we describe our privacy policy. We seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it.

2. Information We Collect

Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering at the Services expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in activities on the Services or otherwise contacting us.

• Credentials. We collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
• Account Data. We collect your email address and display name.
• Photos. Any images you choose to upload are stored in our cloud storage provider (Supabase).

Information automatically collected

Some information — such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

• Usage and Analytics. With your explicit consent, we collect data about your interactions with the application (e.g., screens visited, features used) via PostHog, processed on EU servers.
• Crash Reports. To fix bugs and improve stability, we automatically collect crash logs using Sentry (EU servers). These logs contain error details and may include app state at the time of the crash.
• Location Data. GPS coordinates are used during trail navigation but are processed strictly on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Push Notifications. We collect push tokens to deliver route alerts you subscribe to.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information collected via our Services for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations.

• To facilitate account creation and logon process.
• To send administrative information to you.
• To fulfill and manage your orders and subscriptions (processed via RevenueCat).
• To deliver targeted notifications and updates about trail status.
• To process voice for the AI chat feature (transcription provided via device OS integrations with Apple/Google).

4. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share and disclose your information with the following third parties:

• Cloud Computing Services: Supabase
• Web & Mobile Analytics: PostHog
• Error Monitoring: Sentry
• Payments: RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play Store

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements).

6. Your Privacy Rights

In some regions (like the European Economic Area), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability.

7. Updates To This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
